What Supergirl Did Next

Jade is a girl who knows what she wants. She knows how to get it too. But when a sexist remark gets her blood boiling, Jade fights back with all she has.
Thalia says: 'The seed of the idea was very much the race between a girl and a guy. As I was writing, though, Jade’s relationship with her mum and her sister became more important to her journey. I think it’s because these gender issues (ie ‘women fighting for their rights’) are also about how women treat each other – how our mothers influence us, and how we react when our friends make different choices than our own. I find it interesting that an idea that was meant to be about gender conflict became so much about female relationships.'
